How to enable 'Cookies'

Use the following instructions to enable the "Cookies" settings for your specific browser.

To determine your browser version, select the [Help] menu, then select the [About] menu item.

Please Note: If you are using a web browser not listed below, you will need to search for "cookies" within the browser help index to locate your browser specific instructions.

Microsoft Internet Explorer - Versions 6.x and 7.x (Windows)

  1. Select "Internet Options" from the Tools menu
  2. Click on the "Privacy" tab
  3. Click the "Default" button (or manually slide the bar down to "Medium") under "Settings".
  4. Click "OK"

Microsoft Internet Explorer - Version 5.x (Windows)

  1. Select "Internet Options" from the Tools menu
  2. Click on the "Security" tab
  3. Click the "Custom Level" button
  4. Scroll down to the "Cookies" section
  5. To enable:
    • Set "Allow cookies that are stored on your computer" to "Enable"
    • Set "Allow per-session cookies" to "Enable"
  6. Click "OK".
  7. Once you have updated your browser settings to enable cookies, close ALL of your open browser windows

Microsoft Internet Explorer (Macintosh)

  1. From the Explorer menu, select Preferences
  2. In the Internet Explorer Preferences window underneath "Receiving Files," select Cookies
  3. Next to "When receiving cookies" select an option to accept the cookie

Firefox - Version 2.x (Windows)

  1. Click Tools on the menu bar
  2. Click Options
  3. Click the Privacy icon
  4. Check Accept Cookies from sites
  5. Click "OK"

Firefox - Version 1.5 (Windows)

  1. Choose "Options" from the Tools menu
  2. Click "Privacy"
  3. Select the Cookies tab
  4. Check "Allow sites to set cookies"
  5. Click "OK"

Safari - Version 3.0 (Windows)

  1. Choose "Preferences" from the Edit menu
  2. Click Security
  3. Click "Always" to accept and remember all cookies
  4. Close the Preferences dialog box
  5. Close and restart your browser

Safari - Version 1.2.2 (Macintosh)

  1. Choose "Preferences" from the Safari menu
  2. Click Security
  3. Click "Always" to accept and remember all cookies
  4. Click "OK"
  5. Close and restart your browser

AOL - Version 9.0

  1. Click Settings on the AOL toolbar
  2. On the Essentials tab, click Internet [Web] Options
  3. Under Related Settings, click Internet Explorer Settings
  4. Click the Privacy tab
  5. Click the button Advanced
  6. Check the box "Override automatic cookie handling"
  7. Under "First Party Cookies," click "Accept"
  8. Check the box "Always allow session cookies"
  9. Click OK, then OK again
  10. Exit AOL and restart the browser

Netscape - Version 8.02 (Windows)

  1. Right-click on the tab for the Web site
  2. Click "Show Site Controls"
  3. Select the Advanced tab
  4. Select "Allow Cookies"
  5. Click "Done"

Netscape - Version 7 (Windows)

  1. Click the Edit menu and then Preferences
  2. Click the arrow next to Privacy & Security and then click Cookies
  3. Click Enable cookies for the originating web site only
